Huawei Mate Xs Is The World’s Most Powerful Foldable Smartphone

Mobile World Congress may not be happening this year, but that doesn’t mean we are not going to see any amazing smartphone tech before spring. Take, for example, the Mate Xs, Huawei’s latest foldable handset announced just minutes ago.

Though this form factor is still pretty experimental in almost every sense, there is a strong aura of refinement surrounding the Mate Xs, which happens to be the world’s most powerful foldable smartphone to date. And no, this is not a prototype, though it is not likely to be produced in massive volumes due to how niche the foldable phone market still is.

But in the meantime, Huawei intends to release the Mate Xs this spring and use it to debut its AppGallery and Huawei Mobile Services developed as an alternative to a Google-dependent Android experience. Of course, the company’s proprietary artificial intelligence platform, HiAi, will also be an integral part of the Mate Xs experience, as weill a world-class quad camera setup on the back, consisting entirely of Leica-perfected glass. As is usually the case with Huawei products, the Mate Xs will not be officially available in the United States but those keen on importing it will probably be able to do so for under $100, based on the last few generations of the company’s Android flagships.
