Review: PureGear PureMove Arm Band for the iPhone 5, 5S and 5C

At CES 2014 I got a quick preview of some of the new items PureGear has in the works for the upcoming year.  If you missed my short video showcasing what’s coming from PureGear have a look here.  One of the items on the way is the company’s new PureMove ArmBand.  When I arrived home from Las Vegas I found the PureMove waiting for me to check out.  The PureMove isn’t like any other arm band I’ve tested before.  Want to see what makes it so different?  Check out my full review below.

Read on through for my full review and be sure to catch the video at the end of the review for a more up close and personal look at the PureGear PureMove Arm Band for the iPhone 5, 5s and 5c.

Inside the packaging you’ll find the arm band along a clip that can be used to store earbuds on.

The PureGear PureMove Arm Band for the iPhone 5, 5s and 5c is available in two different sizes.  For smaller arms there’s a S/M version sized to arms 7″ – 10.5″.  For larger arms there’s a M/L version for arms measuring 9.5″ – 14″.

Right off the bat you’ll notice that the PureMove is unlike other arm bands you’ve seen before.  There’s nothing covering the phone’s screen.  Essentially PureGear has placed a heavily protected, reinforced, ”snap-on-the-back” style shell on an arm band,  but not just any old arm band at that.  The PureMove arm band is moisture-wicking, washable, antibacterial and odor-free as well.  The yellow material inside the case feels like foam padding and gives a good amount of give when pressed.

The iPhone snaps in easily into the PureMove and fits quite tightly.  There’s little chance that’ll come out unless you want it to.  While inside the PureMove you’ll find all access to all of your phone’s ports and controls.  Both the bottom and the top of the case are completely cutout and so is the vibrate switch.  The volume up and down buttons get covered and replaced by buttons built into the case.  These still yield a good amount of tactile feedback when pressed.

The clip, which comes included with the armband can be used to keep a pair of earbuds on.  This can be used to both store the headphones on when not in use as well as keep the lengthy cord out of the way when you are.

The PureGear PureMove arm band solves the problem of having to deal with an annoying, plastic, thick, screen protector found on 99% of the other arm bands on the market.  It’s offered in two sizes, which means those with the smallest of arms to the largest will be able to achieve a proper fit.  The arm band itself is moisture wicking and machine washable as well so you’ll always be able to keep it fresh.  If you’ve tired of the plain-jane arm band and have been yearning to try something different the PureGear PureMove might be the arm band for you.  Learn more about the PureMove on the company’s web site come March 1st, 2014.
