Design and Features of UGREEN Gaming Microphone

The UGREEN gaming microphone is adjustable, allowing users to position it at the optimal angle for capturing their voice accurately. It features a convenient mute button on the microphone’s front, making it easy to quickly silence the audio when needed. It also features a push RGB button on the microphone’s front that cycles through seven dynamic lighting modes. At the bottom is a volume control.

Conveniently located at the bottom is the gain control knob, and on the back of the microphone is a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack for latency-free monitoring.

This microphone is compatible with Windows PCs, PS4/PS5, Switch/Switch 2, iPhone 15/16 (requires a USB-C-to-USB-C data cable), Mac, and iOS. But note that it is not compatible with Xbox. The microphone works with online platforms such as Discord, Zoom, Skype, streaming apps, and more!

Performance and Sound Quality Assessment

The microphone features a 96kHz sample rate and 24-bit depth, with built-in DSP noise cancellation, delivering a clear, natural recording and making it ideal for online meetings, school, podcasts, and more. Additionally, the microphone features a USB connector, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices, including PCs, laptops, and gaming consoles (not compatible with Xbox).

The built-in DSP noise cancellation helps reduce, and at times even eliminate, unwanted noise, such as keyboard clatter and fan noise, which is excellent for the home or a noisy office. Additionally, the shock mount helps reduce vibrations from the surrounding area. I placed it on my large keyboard/mouse pad, and together they eliminated any unwanted vibration noise.

Some considerations before buying

If you are looking for a more flexible setup with a microphone arm or other options, this microphone is designed for the desk and lacks a threaded end for basic mounting.

During testing, the microphone sounded significantly better the closer it was, so it had to be closer than preferred while in use. Which is fine for some tasks, such as recording or talking on Discord, but for gaming, it wasn’t always practical. So it has placement limitations and no mounting options, which could be more trouble than it’s worth for some users.

A higher-end microphone will offer more depth if you are seeking to produce studio-quality audio, but this microphone works pretty well, especially at the price point compared to other options.

But overall, the gaming microphone delivers solid sound quality at an affordable price, making it a great entry-level option for gaming or content creation. The UGREEN gaming microphone is definitely worth checking out.

The microphone comes complete with a pop filter, 5 ft USB cable, shock mount, and a user manual.
