The yuwell wireless upper arm blood pressure monitor is one of the most convenient home monitors that I have ever used. The cuff, pump, and display are integrated into one compact unit, so there are no cords or air hoses to untangle. The cuff is comfortable (8.7″-17.7″), inflates smoothly and quietly, and the one-button operation makes taking a reading simple.
Readings were generally consistent when I remained still and positioned the cuff correctly. The voice guidance announces blood pressure and pulse results. You can also turn the voice off easily at the bottom of the screen using the on/off switch.
The free yuwell HealthCare+ app for iOS and Android is also useful for automatically recording readings and tracking trends to share with a doctor. I especially appreciate the rechargeable battery; it uses the included slower charger rather than a high-speed adapter.
After using it a few times, there are a few drawbacks. The display can be difficult to read while the monitor is on your arm; well, actually, it’s hard to read period. The cuff allows a lot of room for different sizes, and may not be ideal for arms near or beyond its stated size range.
I have read that there might be some mixed accuracy problems. I tested along with three other monitors, and it stayed within a few-point margin of those. I think a lot of the inaccuracy could be when, how, and where it’s taken. But in my testing, I found the reading to be fine. But if you’re unsure, you might want to compare it with a doctor-validated monitor before relying on it for ongoing health decisions.
Overall, the yuwell wireless upper arm blood pressure monitor is a sleek, portable, and easy-to-use blood pressure monitor with excellent cordless convenience and app integration. Although it might cost a little more than some traditional models, the compact design and tracking features may justify the premium price.
