Path of Exile, the acclaimed action role-playing game, is known for its incredible flexibility and character-building. With a vast array of unique and powerful items, and decades’ worth of content, Path of Exile has plenty for any old or new player to experience.
In their latest update, 3.23 Affliction League, they have added three additional ascendancies for you to allocate and improve your character with. Warden specializes in Tinctures and a powerful defensive aura called Barkskin, Warlock specializes in minion and corpse-based skills, and Primalist specializes in extra inventory space and charms.
Unlocking these can be difficult especially if your character is under-geared because doing the league mechanic buffs all other enemies in the area. Fortunately, there is a quick way to do so, and get each full ascendency tree in about an hour.
The Secret Technique
The secret sauce to unlock these is by utilizing the the Desecrated Chambers waypoint in Act 10. GGG has not restricted the three quest chains in affliction to a certain monster level, so it is possible to complete the entire affliction chain within this area. The method is simple:
- Enter Desecrated Chambers
- Enter The Viridian Wildwood
- Follow your Wisp to find your quest giver/quest objective and progress toward it
- Exit the Viridian Wilwood and Repeat (Control + Click on Waypoint to create a new instance)
Tips
- Recommended you have a decent build that can handle level 65 enemies. You won’t need to clear the map afterwards so the empowered monsters are not a concern. You can easily farm decent gear within the Blood Aqueducts in Act 9 if necessary.
- Speed is not required, you can take all the time you need within the Wildwood.
- Â The wisp that orbits your character will direct you towards key areas and events inside the Wildwood. Follow it for the best results.
- You can place a portal when you enter to have an ‘anchor point’ to aid in navigating the Wildwood.
