The Logitech G Yeti GX Dynamic RGB Gaming microphone review

Logitech has released the Logitech G Yeti GX microphone that is aimed towards podcasters, gamers, streamers, and other online creators.  The Yeti GX is a “broadcast-style” USB microphone that features a heavy stand and RGB lighting.  The microphone can also be attached to any standard boom microphone stand with adapters for 3/8-inch and 5/8-inch connections.

The Logitech G Yeti GX is a dynamic supercardioid (supercardioid mic has a tighter pickup angle than a cardioid) USB microphone.  The Yeti GX is designed to focus on picking up the sound in front rather than behind the microphone, eliminating sounds from the keyboard or other sounds that normally could be picked up in poor recording areas.  The trade-off is that if you are not centered with the front of the microphone, then your voice can also fall off quickly.

You can configure the RGB lighting on the Logitech G Yeti GX with two configurable LEDs.  One is on the circle on the back of the Yeti GX microphone, and the other is behind the Logitech G logo on the side.  You can set various animated effects or a solid color for the lights.  The LED digital volume wheel will either be red or blue, depending on whether the mic is muted.  Use LIGHTSYNC and enjoy the experience even more by syncing them with other G gear in G HUB, including mice and keyboards.

When pressing the volume wheel, it turns on Smart Audio Lock to keep the microphone from clipping and distorting from loud noises, such as yelling.  An analog limiter compresses the signal and stops the microphone from distorting.
