Radeon RX 7800 XT and Radeon RX 7700 XT will be available on 9/6

The new AMD Radeonâ„¢ RX 7800 XT and Radeon RX 7700 XT enthusiast-class graphics cards by AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) have been announced at Gamescom.  Both the RX 7800 XT and the RX 7700 XT will deliver a high refresh 1440p gaming experience at 60+ FPS with 20% more performance-per-dollar than its competition.

Along with the announcement of the new cards, AMD announced the availability of AMD FidelityFXâ„¢ Super Resolution 3 (FSR), the next generation of the upscaling technology that will offer a massive performance boost to the supported games.

Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum are expected to be among the first games to add AMD FSR 3 support, along with ten other games that are expected to support AMD FSR 3 in the near future.  Immortals of Aveum, Forspoken, Avatar, Cyberpunk 2077, Squad, and Starship Troopers Extermination are among the ones that are expected to offer AMD FSR 3, along with 15 game developers and publishers currently committed to supporting AMD FSR 3 in the future.

Epic Games has been reported to be working on supporting AMD FSR 3 to Unreal® Engine 5 for developers to integrate FSR 3 into their UE5 games.

When using FSR 3 with super-resolution upscaling and frame generation, AMD says that it supports  AMD Radeonâ„¢ RX 5700 and above but recommends using AMD Radeonâ„¢ RX 6000 Series and above.  The NVIDIA GeForce RTXâ„¢ 20 Series and above are supported, but the NVIDIA GeForce RTXâ„¢ 30 Series and above.

The RX 7800 XT and the RX 7700 XT will be offered with 16GB (RX 7800 XT) and 12GB (RX 7700 XT) of high-speed GDDR6 VRAM and will support advanced features including the all-new AMD HYPR-RX technology.  The new AI Acceleration will deliver over two times more performance on average than AMD RDNA 2 architecture3.

The new cards will feature enhanced visual quality when streaming or recording using the improved AMD encoders and AMD AI and content-adaptive machine learning technology for sharper text when using lower resolutions or bitrates.

They will also have support for DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI® 2.1a using the AMD Radiance Display™ Engine for high refresh rates and ultra-high resolutions up to 8K.
