iOttie Popsicle Case for the iPhone 5 Review

It’s not often I get to try a case on my iPhone 5 that completely alters the look and feel of the phone.  But that’s exactly what happens when you slip the iOttie Popsicle Case onto your iPhone 5.  This hybrid style case is shaped in such a way that it properly follows the contours of your hand making gripping it a real pleasure to do.

Read on for my full review.

The iOttie Popsicle Case is available in 6 different colors.  You can choose from Mint, Magenta, Sky Blue, Black, Yellow or White.

Here’s how iOttie describes the case.

“Give your iPhone 5 a frozen treat and let it chill out in the Popsicle by iOttie. Its sleek Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) case protects your phone from your everyday activities. The protective 2-in-1 case provides delicious style and solid defense while all outside functions are still entirely useable. Let the Popsicle by iOttie keep your iPhone 5 looking cool in a large variety of flavorful colors. Get protected. Get going!

  • The 2-in-1 case pairs a hard shell with a rubberized design that’s durable through all of life’s journeys
  • Ultra-protection is provided by the shock absorbent Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) based case
  • The slim case is designed to fit the iPhone 5 perfectly for everyday usage
  • All exterior functions such as charging, volume, microphone, and camera are available during use
  • Available in an extensive assortment of flavorful colors: Black, White, Magenta, Sky Blue, Mint, and Yellow”

Nothing comes included along with the Popsicle case other than the case itself.

The case itself is a one piece, hybrid style case.  The interior of the case is made from a soft TPU shaped in the honeycomb pattern, which will absorb shock and impact.

The exterior of the case is made from a glossy hard plastic.

Installation is completed by simply laying the back of your phone inside the case and pressing down.

Once installed there isn’t much in the way of the lay on the table protection.  If you choose this case you’ll probably want to also place a screen shield on your phone.

The cutouts and controls of the phone are totally accessible but very recessed.  This is due to the protective nature as well as fun shape of the case.

With this case on people might not even recognize your phone as an iPhone 5 thanks to the case’s rounded edges.

Once you place the iOttie Popsicle case on your phone you’ll immediately recognize the amount of protection it offers.  The case feels very solid on the outside but also cushy inside.  It’s this combination of both hard and soft materials that insures your phone stays protected from not only impact but foreign objects too.  The design of the Popsicle is fun and I enjoy using it a great deal.
